Overview
Built the booking platform and personalised MyPages experience for Scandinavia's largest hotel chain, on EPiServer CMS and Commerce, serving both leisure travellers and negotiated-rate business accounts.
Who This Is For
Hotel groups and travel brands whose booking platform has to serve leisure guests and corporate travel buyers at once. This case is most useful if:
- you run several brands with a large portfolio of offers
- leisure and corporate customers book in very different ways
- you want to reduce phone bookings by making the web faster
- editors need to adjust pricing and offers without developers
The Challenge
Nordic Choice Hotels (170 hotels and 9,200 employees across the Comfort, Quality, Clarion and Nordic Hotels & Resorts brands) needed a booking experience for two very different audiences at once.
Leisure travellers were filtering a large portfolio of offers. Corporate travel buyers were booking against their organisation's negotiated rates. Both needed to work across desktop, mobile and tablet.
Our Approach
We built a filterable booking system on EPiServer CMS and EPiServer Commerce, integrated with Choice's back-end business systems.
- Immediate availability and pricing: shown as soon as users had narrowed their options.
- MyPages: a personalised area encouraging guests to return and see offers tailored to their profile.
- Low-price offers calendar: for the Comfort chain, letting web editors prioritise and adjust pricing across individual hotels or the whole chain.
- Corporate pages: separate experiences for individual bookers and for travel buyers managing an organisation's account.
- Full delivery: project management, strategy, interaction and graphic design, front-end and mobile development, and .NET development.
Impact
One platform, two audiences. The same system served a leisure shopper comparing hundreds of offers and a corporate travel buyer running an organisation's account.
A faster web path. Built to reduce dependence on phone bookings by making online booking genuinely quicker.
Leisure guests browse and corporate buyers transact. A booking platform that serves both has to let each skip what the other needs.

Dries Buytaert: The cost of running multiple CMS platforms
Dries Buytaert argues that running multiple CMS platforms creates hidden operational costs through duplicated integrations, security policies, expertise, and governance. He proposes standardizing on Drupal while using different operating models—SaaS (Acquia Source) for speed and PaaS (Acquia Cloud) for control—to preserve flexibility while reducing fragmentation.
