Overview
Extended the reach of the World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi to a global online audience through ScribeMedia's Events On Demand webcasting service.
Who This Is For
Media groups, industry associations, event organisers, or corporate communications teams managing major conferences, summits, or multi-day industry events. Seeking to extend event reach and commercial value through live webcasting, on-demand content, and digital distribution.
The Challenge
Major industry summits like the World Future Energy Summit reach only the audience physically in the room. Event owners and trade associations wanted a way to extend that reach to a much larger online audience, and give the event a lasting presence beyond the days it actually ran, without taking on video production and distribution themselves.
What We Propose
As part of ScribeMedia's Events On Demand service, which Russell co-founded and ran the European arm of as Managing Director, EMEA, the company covered the World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi, alongside other events such as the Advertising Research Foundation's ReThink conference and the Economics of Social Media summit, producing on-demand video coverage distributed through ScribeMedia's trackable video player and syndicated to industry sites, giving the event owner accurate viewership reporting by time period as well as viral and SEO distribution beyond the event itself.
Why It Matters
Extending an event's real reach - coverage available to a global online audience long after the physical event ended, not just delegates in the room. Measurable, not just filmed - a trackable video player gave event owners real viewership data rather than a vague sense of "reach." Part of a specialist practice - one of a stated portfolio of major industry events ScribeMedia's Events On Demand service covered, evidence of a real, working webcasting operation rather than a one-off production.
This work was carried out through Russell's own venture, DLI-ScribeMedia (later ScribeMedia Europe), which he co-founded and led as Managing Director, EMEA. Any public information referenced here is used for identification and does not imply endorsement.

Dries Buytaert: The cost of running multiple CMS platforms
Dries Buytaert argues that running multiple CMS platforms creates hidden operational costs through duplicated integrations, security policies, expertise, and governance. He proposes standardizing on Drupal while using different operating models—SaaS (Acquia Source) for speed and PaaS (Acquia Cloud) for control—to preserve flexibility while reducing fragmentation.
